How Does CPI Price Residential Work?
- A fixed price before we start. We look at the job, tell you what it needs and quote one price. You approve it before any work begins, so there's no hourly bill and no surprise at the end. Our fixed prices are typically based on $150–$250 per hour, plus parts and drive time.
- A $59 inspection fee for diagnostic visits. When we come out to find the cause of a problem, the visit has a $59 inspection fee. It is waived for service plan members. Estimates for replacements and larger projects are free for most services.
- After hours costs more. We answer around the clock for emergencies, and same-day service is available. Work after hours is still quoted as a fixed price before we start, typically based on $200–$300 per hour, plus parts and drive time, with a minimum charge. See 24/7 emergency plumbing.
- Permits where the work needs them. Our sewer line and whole-house repipe prices include the permit and inspection; requirements vary by city.
What the ranges mean
Each range is a typical price for a residential job in San Jose and the South Bay, installed, before any special offer. A + means the range is open-ended: larger equipment, a harder install or extra work can take the price above the top figure. Access, pipe or equipment condition, materials and the parts your system needs set where your job falls, which is why we quote after seeing it.
