Who We Work With

Commercial Plumbing Emergencies We Handle

Day and night, weekends and holidays.

  • Burst and leaking pipes

Water stopped, the damaged section isolated so the rest of the building keeps water, and the pipe repaired.

  • Sewer backups

Main and building lines cleared by cable or jetter, often the same night, with a camera check to find the cause.

  • Water heater failures

Leaking tanks shut down safely and no-hot-water calls diagnosed, with replacement planned fast.

  • Leaks between units

Water coming through a ceiling traced to its source in the unit above or the wall between.

  • Main and service line breaks

Underground breaks isolated and repaired, or temporary service arranged while the repair is planned.

  • Gas line problems

After the utility has made it safe, leaks found and repaired.

How We Limit the Damage

  • Talk-through on the phone

We help your on-site contact find and close the right shutoff while the plumber is on the way.

  • Isolate, don't shut down

Where valves allow, we isolate the damaged section so most units keep water.

  • Make safe tonight, repair right

Sometimes the best plan is a temporary fix tonight and a permanent repair during business hours.

  • Documentation for insurance

Photos and notes of the cause and the damage, for your claim and your owners.

What Managers and Associations Say

  • Our HOA manager recommended CPI when our toilet overflowed on a Saturday evening in July. They picked up the phone at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. One of their plumbers showed up 30 minutes later. He quickly determined that the clog was a bigger issue further down the sewer line which required a professional hydro jetting cleaning to resolve. After checking with the HOA manager, CPI sent a jetter machine and another plumber within half an hour. Their crew worked until 11:30pm to clear the clog. We were so happy that we could use the bathroom again! CPI was responsive, communicated well, worked fast, and resolved the issue during off-hours. We will definitely call them again.

  • Today we had a major underground hot water leak that affected 8 units. Daniel came out and used his experience to find and isolate the issue by installing ball valves on the manifold allowing us to have water. Very happy with the service. Way to go Daniel and way to go CPI!!!!!!

  • CPI was professional, fast, and seemed to know what they were doing. My building hired Consolidated to replace a leaking pipe. Abel took great care to protect my stuff, ensuring that the restoration process was seamless. They left no mess, which was great and you can’t count on these days, and I really just wanted this to get fixed asap and close the chapter on it. Pricing for the emergency service seemed fair and transparent.

Be Ready Before the Next Emergency

A little preparation turns a flood into a minor repair.

  • A shutoff map

Label the main, risers and unit shutoffs, and make sure on-site staff know where they are.

  • An approval limit

Give us an amount we can approve on the spot for emergency work, so crews don't wait for a callback.

  • After-hours contacts

Keep current contacts for building access, alarm codes and the person who can approve work.

  • Cleanout access

Know where sewer cleanouts are and keep them clear; it saves time on every backup.

  • Tenant instructions

Tell tenants where their unit shutoffs are and what to do if water appears.

  • Preventive maintenance

Scheduled jetting and valve exercising prevent many of the calls we get at night.

Commercial Plumbing Emergencies: What Managers Should Know

What is an emergency? Water you can’t stop, sewage coming into units, a gas smell, no water to a building, or no hot water for many residents. A dripping fixture or a single slow drain can usually wait for a regular appointment, which costs less.

Isolating instead of shutting down. In buildings with working riser and branch valves, a burst pipe can often be isolated to a few units. Where those valves are seized or missing, the whole building may have to go without water until the repair is done. That’s one of the best arguments for replacing old valves during regular service.

Sewer backups in multi-unit buildings. Backups show up first in the lowest units. Ask residents above to stop using water until the line is clear, and document affected units for cleanup and insurance. Once the line is open, a camera inspection tells you whether roots, grease or a broken pipe caused it, and whether the City main is involved. In San José, if sewage comes from a City cleanout or several neighboring properties back up at once, call the City’s 24/7 sewer line at (408) 794-1900.

After the emergency. Have wet materials dried quickly to prevent mold, keep photos and invoices together for the claim, and schedule the permanent repair. If the cause was age or corrosion, ask us to look at the rest of the system before the next failure.
